Aboriginal staff cut in WA Education Department reshuffle

The long process of restructuring Western Australia’s education system under the (relatively) new Labor Government has seen Indigenous education roles fall by the wayside.

23 regional Aboriginal education staff members will be expelled as part of a plan to remove 188 “backroom” positions from the department.

Associate Professor Nina Burridge of the University of Technology Sydney says it is a strange move.
