Over the past few weeks, two grassroots campaigns have been gaining momentum. Led by Aboriginal owned and operated social enterprise Spark Health and Kullilli and Murruwari man, Michael Connelly, the former is trying to free the flag and the latter asking for people to fly the Aboriginal flag upside down as a vote of discontent, with plans to retire the flag on 26 January 2020 and continue their journey under a new flag.
